Mob Town Concept Art

Here is some concept art for my up coming game Mob Town (working title) soon to be published by 5th Street Games. Originally it had a semi-gritty mob theme with human characters. We are changing it up to animals to lighten up the theme a little and to inject a little humor as well.

I start my sketches right over the card template I made previously, then sketch using a Wacom tablet and Adobe Photoshop. Doing it this way allows me to make sure the characters are going to fit nicely on the card without key elements being cut off by frames or icons.

From here I am going to clean all these up by redrawing them by hand. I will then scan them into the computer, ink, color and shade them with Adobe Illustrator then bring them back into Photoshop for the finishing touches. Below is a sample of where these characters will soon end up. I know I am not a very good writer, so if you have any questions on my process, please ask them below and I would be happy to answer.

Here is a preview of one of the puzzle cards that I did for an upcoming Sketch Card set called “Contemporary Pin-ups”. This started out simply as a girl in a sexy bunny outfit and then quickly evolved into a really fun image.

Yoda Sketch Card Video

Just finished my second time-lapse video, this time I drew up everyone's favorite little green puppet, no not Kermit the Frog….no not Oscar the Grouch, ok ok, he's most peoples favorite little green puppet, everyone is so picky these days. Anyways I hope you enjoy the video, or should I say “The video you will enjoy?”.

Wizard of Crafts

This was sketched up for last weeks Random Words Art Challuunge. The words were Brain & Craft. After thinking about what I was going to do for about a week it finally hit me 20 minutes before it was due. The thought of the scarecrow “crafting” his own brain out of clay was the first thought then the rest just followed. It was also voted as the favorite from last week so thank you to everyone that voted for me.

Batman & Joker Commissions Finished

I was finally able to sit down and finish the Batman & Joker Commissions I started a few weeks ago, and here they are.

For these I used my Pigma ink pens to do the main inking of the characters, then I went over the whole thing with a really loose and rough ink wash to give it a really gritty feel. Finally once all that was dry (and after the paper was re flattened from water warping) I added color using Prismacolor markers.

Voltron: United And Drawn is here! I received my copies this week and I must say this book turned out great! I am really impressed with the quality that 5finity puts into their products. I have worked on several Sketch Card sets for them in the past, but this is the first time I was asked to create a fully finished piece of art to be published in a book.

Batman & Joker (Sketch)

Started working on a commission of Batman & The Joker this weekend. This is where I am at so far with them. I still have some tweaking to do before I move on to inks and color. This is my entry for last weeks Random Words Art Challuunge. The words were RADIOACTIVE / BUTTERFLY. Which to be honest I had no clue what to draw until my buddy Andrew gave me this idea. I didn’t have time to finish it but I still like the idea a lot and I think that someday I will…maybe.
